Working for a company that design, manufacture, supply and distribute safety and security equipment, you will be reporting to the leading hand of the fabrication section.  Your duties will include:

  • Safely fabricate components detailed on technical drawings using sheet metal equipment (typically guillotine / press brake / iron worker / roller) and hand tools.
  • Weld the components (MIG or TIG) as shown in the drawing.
  • Set and operate all the machinery and equipment in the department.

Qualifications required

  • You must have 5 GCSE's, or equivalents, grade A*- C or 9 - 4 to include Maths, English and Science.
  • An additional technical GCSE, or equivalent, in Design and Technology or Resistant Materials would be desirable.

You will achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding.  This will include:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
  • Level 3 BTEC in Engineering.
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT (if required).
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
