    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Supporting the existing Care Assistants with organising and participating in activities for the individuals using the service. You will also work alongside the Care Home Manager to participate and provide a full and comprehensive support to the residents, and assist in the assessment of individual needs.

Working with individuals and their families to identify their needs and choices for purposeful day activities and identify opportunities available for the individual and to offer support to individuals to achieve and maintain involvement in their chosen activity.

A normal day would include:

Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Service Users when required with all aspects of daily living.

Assist clients in all aspects of their care needs, e.g., physical, emotional and spiritual. Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Service Users retain their comfort and dignity.

Closely monitor Service Users who may be confused and /or have behavioural problems.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
