    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    Monday – Saturday, 12 – 10:30 on a Split Rota. 37.5 hours a week.

Do you want to kick start your career with an exciting opportunity in the hospitality industry, Jack’s Shack grill bar and restaurant are looking for an apprentice to join their team.

This is a vacancy which will require you to have a friendly approach with good communication skills with an interest in food.

You'll be gaining practical experience and professional training, whilst also gaining a level 2 qualification in hospitality services.

The successful candidate will be working towards a Level 2 NVQ in Hospitality Services with a view to progress onto full time employment.

Things to consider

We welcome applications aged 16 to 18, but recruitment would be based on merit. We welcome applications from candidates living in the Folkestone/Cheriton area. The dates as entered for the interview/start dates for this opportunity are to be used as a guide and interviews will take place as close to this date as is reasonably practical for the employer followed by a start date offered by the employer. You may be required to work weekends and late evenings. This employer dependent on work experience or GCSE grades may expect you to complete our pre-apprentice programme before progressing onto the apprenticeship. You will also be required to attend interviews in Folkestone with the training provider before you meet with the employer.
