    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Industry Hair & Beauty Academy are looking for someone to join their team as an apprentice receptionist/administrator. This will be a varied role combining both customer service and administration.

Your role will involve greeting visitors face to face as well making outbound calls and receiving inbound calls, you will also assist with administration and updating the learner management system.

Your duties will be as follows:

  • Ensure all customer information is readily available.
  • Meet and greet customers.
  • Make and receive phone calls.
  • Send and Receive Emails.
  • Completing Bookings.
  • Ensure all ‘bookings and reception’ enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and effective way.
  • To maintain and input details on learner management software.
  • To complete compliance checks on learner management software.
  • To add new starts to learner management software.
  • To assist with general administration.
