You will be working part of the time at the training grounds and part-time at the stadium.

Following the growth of the football club over the past few years, the club has recently acquired a new 43 acres training complex. This complex will house the clubs first team, youth team and Centre of Excellence and will require an extensive amount of daily maintenance to ensure the best possible facilities for the Club';s players.

The apprentices shall be overseen by the Head Groundsman and will report to the Site Manager on a day to day basis.

Key responsibilities over the duration of the apprenticeship will include:

  • Preparation and repair of training pitches and training areas.
  • General maintenance of training complex including, cutting of trees and hedges, up keep of buildings.
  • Assistance with preparation and repair of the clubs stadium pitch.
  • Additional grounds maintenance duties on all club sites, as and when required.

7am-3pm Mon-Fri and Saturdays when the team are playing at home.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
