The Business Administration Apprenticeship responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with post
  • Stationery orders
  • Answering the telephone and transferring calls
  • Greeting and looking after visitors
  • Setting and typing up documents such as letters and reports
  • Keeping computer records up to date and filing
  • Setting up meetings and taking minutes
  • Managing staff appointments and making travel arrangements.

  • Articulate and approachable, comfortable with picking the phone up and speaking to a stranger and initiating a conversation, customer service mentality for dealing with workshops; inbound & outbound calls

  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Confidence in problem solving

Qualifications required

  • You must have 'C' grades or above (or equivalent) in Maths, English and ICT GCSEs or Functional Skills Level 2 in these areas

Future prospects

On successful completion of your apprenticeship you will receive NVQ Level 2 Certificates along with functional skills in Maths, English and ICT as well as an Employment rights and responsibilities project. You will then have the opportunity to work towards your Level 3 qualification.

Things to consider

The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From April 2017 the ANMW was set at £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Training provider

This course usually takes one year to gain an NVQ/VCQ Level 2
The time will be spent in a place of employment where you will get to learn practical skills from seeing the real working environment
Once you pass your assessments and progress through your course you will be able to start completing tasks on your own
To ensure you are competent in completing tasks on your own a Remit assessor will visit you periodically at the work place to complete assessment testing with you
