Role and responsibilities:

  • To maintain and develop skill levels in all aspect of laminating, trimming and inspection
  • To achieve daily set targets
  • Learn to Laminate, Trim and Inspect Composite Components to high standards with demanding time constraints
  • Versatile and prepared to undertake varied tasks
  • Learn to read engineering drawings
  • Follow the production manuals at all times
  • To carry out duties as requested by the management
  • Be aware of good working practices related to composite component manufacture
  • To keep the place of work in a tidy, clean and safe condition at all times
  • To ensure that patterns / moulds / components are carefully handled and that all reasonable care is taken to prevent any form of damage being caused to them
  • To maintain thorough and current product knowledge and read all technical information as supplied
  • To adopt safe working practices at all times in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policy, drawing to the attention of supervisory, management staff any matter of concern relating to safety of equipment or safety procedures
  • To advise the Cell Leader/Supervisor of any quality / process issues during build and/or repair
  • To be able to show flexibility

Qualifications required

Training provider

Delivered in partnership with TXM Academy you will be required to attend TXM Academy’s Training Centre in Milton Keynes one day per week to gain the technical knowledge element of composite engineering qualification of the apprenticeship.

Your Apprenticeship will consist of:

  • EAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Composite Engineering
  • BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Engineering Specialist: manufacturing Engineering) (QCF)
  • City & Guild Functional Skills Qualifications in English, Maths and ICT at Level 1 (if required
