Whilst the role will be flexible and varied, the main areas of responsibility will include the following of which you will receive full training:

  • Researching property purchases
  • Ordering information from suppliers
  • Managing customer communications (phone and email)
  • Responding to customer enquiries
  • Scanning, filing, archiving documentation
  • Working as an integral part of the team
  • Working on certain tasks individually
  • Validating information gathered
  • Writing and sending letters to customers in the post
  • Completion of data application forms
  • Usage of MS office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Progress reports to team and line manager
  • Travel to locations in Oxfordshire and Berkshire to collect information (optional)

Apprenticeship Assessment and Information Day Any new person applying for apprenticeship roles where Abingdon and Witney College deliver the training will be required to attend an Apprenticeship Assessment and Information Day at Witney or Abingdon campus. This will consist of a series of initial assessments (required prior to any apprenticeship offer), completion of essential paperwork, the opportunity to find out more about the apprenticeship process, the training included, and a forum for your questions. As a new Apprenticeship Applicant you will only have to undergo this process once. Qualification checks By applying for this vacancy you are giving Abingdon and Witney College permission to undertake a Learner Record Service check on your previous qualifications. Individuals who already have a qualification at Level 4 or above in the same subject area are only eligible for funding for a higher apprenticeship at Level 5 or above. They are not eligible for funding for an intermediate level, advanced level or Level 4 higher apprenticeship. We make every effort to ensure that applicants from non-traditional academic backgrounds or those who may not have the formal GCSE entry requirements can access apprenticeships where possible. The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.

They learn a broad range of administrative skills to ensure that businesses are productive. This apprenticeship focuses on developing the sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail that is required for administrators and their companies to be successful. Apprentices will learn skills such as how to type up board meeting documents, put financial information together in spreadsheets, send the daily post or fax and photocopy confidential documents.

Training will also be provided on diary and meeting management as well as how to work effectively within an office-based environment.
