Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

We are looking for a candidate that has worked in similar environments before. This may be other catering establishments where dishes have been prepared from scratch on site, including pastry.

The candidate must have a basic knowledge of cooking skills and how to prepare fresh meats and fish.

Personal qualities

We are a dynamic, enthusiastic and lively team and we are looking for someone that will add to this.

Although we are busy country pub we are a calm team and are looking for someone that can keep their head when the pressure mounts!

Qualifications required

We do not require any specific qualifications, just someone with common sense and a great work ethic, although GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in English and Maths is desirable.

Future prospects

We would be happy to help the candidate achieve further levels of their NVQ’s if they so wished and undertake any other further training they wanted to complete. Possible full-time employment depending on vacancies within the business.

Level 2 Catering and Professional Chefs

In this position, you will be tasked with making all of our dishes from scratch using our recipe cards and methods.

You will have constant supervision if you want to ask any questions or are unsure of anything.

We will give you experience of working on a busy hot pass and starter/section. We are a small young team and we will provide a fun and enthusiastic environment for you to continue learning and give you the opportunity put forward your own menus ideas and try them out on our menu.

You will recieve training delievered both in College on a day release basis and in the work place working alongside our experienced team.
