General Responsibilities

  • Support the overall ethos of the school.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, copyright etc. reporting all concerns to line manager.
  • Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all.
  • Contribute to the overall aims of the school.
  • To develop own skills.
  • Work cooperatively as part of the team.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day support in all aspects of HR administration, including photocopying, filing, arranging meetings, message taking and responding to routine requests.
  • Assist with the maintenance and evaluation of computer and paper records, keeping them accurate and up-to-date.
  • Process reference/information requests (e.g. mortgage/tenancy)
  • Process DBS checks, ensuring the necessary documentation is reviewed and DBS checks are completed prior to employee/volunteer start dates.
  • Assist the department in the management of planned and unplanned absences, ensuring records are kept up to date in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of job adverts and job description documentation.
  • Co-ordinate interview schedules, booking rooms and catering where appropriate
  • Respond to requests for application packs and maintain list of applications received
  • Assist in further recruitment administration (e.g. invitations to interview, collecting references)
  • Meet and greet candidates on interview days.
  • Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined.
  • This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employer's address. You will only need to attend college in Nottingham City Centre for initial assessments, enrolment and a few other rare occasions.

Future prospects

Upon successful completion and review of the Level 2 Apprenticeship the post holder will progress to a level 3 Apprenticeship

Intermediate Apprenticeship in Caravan and Motorhome Maintenance and Repair IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Caravan & Motorhome Maintenance & Repair (QCF) Functional Skills Level 1 (if required) Off the job training in college will be via 7 separate block weeks of training in Nottingham throughout the course of the programme.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 18 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week.
