    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Honeypot Day Nursery wish to recruit an apprenticeship for their village location nursery. The applicant will work a flexible working week of 40 hours. The nursery is situated off a main public transport route therefore applicants must consider transport.

Duties will consist of:

  • Caring for the children aged 3 months to 5 years.
  • Planning activities suitable for the age and development of the children to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • Help with preparation of snack time.
  • Cleaning of the areas within the nursery.

Things to consider

To be prepared to work within a busy nursery environment with shifts between the hours of 07:30-18:00. Will require own transport due to limited public transport or be able to travel to work to arrive on time.

About the employer

Honeypot Day Nursery is in a rural position and you will require your own transport. The nursery is open throughout the year from 7:30-18:00 catering for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
