This is a great opportunity to work within Harrogate Borough Council Leisure Services to work towards a Level 2 NVQ qualification Certificate in Active Leisure, Learning & Well-being Operational Services.

The Applicant must be able to swim and meet the following criteria

  • Jump/Dive into deep water
  • Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front & back
  • In deep water tread water for 30 seconds
  • Surface dive to floor of pool (deepest part)
  • Climb out unaided without ladders/steps & where pool design permits

Working within defined procedures the duties would include:

  • Lifeguarding,
  • Swim teaching,
  • Reception duties,
  • Cleaning
  • Setting up equipment
  • First aid
  • Pool testing
  • Administration
  • There is a key focus on health & safety and customer service.
