Framework and Level: Process Operative Apprentice (Level 3)

Vacancy full description:

  • Carry out activities relevant to the refining operations within designated areas of the Refinery according to the prescribed methods and instructions and in compliance with safe working practices and site emergency procedures
  • Maintain the required process conditions by monitoring and adjusting, take and record relevant samples for the control of operations and act upon the results, making relevant adjustments and monitoring quality
  • Ensure correct hand-over before leaving the area for any reason, including the shut-down of plant on completion of the operation.
  • Carry out daily cleaning routines of equipment and areas of process in order to meet health & safety requirements and to minimise loss/contamination of process intermediates
  • Liaise with maintenance personnel with regard to routine maintenance and carry out routine maintenance under the direction of the Engineering Department where multi-skilling training has been given

Qualifications required: GCSE (or equivalent) ; Maths, English, ICT (or Science) Grade C or above

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
