Qualifications required

Applicants should have or are about to achieve :

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above - including Maths, English and ICT.

Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) at Level 2

Level 3 Engineering based qualification or equivalent (BTEC, C&G)

Future prospects

The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to continue their development and become a member of a team of technicians. This will enable them to provide a range of support activities to engineers and other members of staff.

Things to consider

From 1st October 2016 The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.40 per hour. From April 2017 this rises to £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Training provider

Full training and support will be given via work based learning. To achieve the full Apprenticeship Framework, the successful applicant will be expected to achieve a level 3 Extended Diploma, to continue with further education, by way of day release, and, if not already achieved, 3 X functional Skill Units at level 3, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and the Employment Rights and responsibilities booklet (ERR).
