Day to day duties include:

  • Support people with learning disabilities in line with their support plan
  • Support people with personal care (toileting and bathing)
  • Encourage people to engage in everyday home, social & leisure activities
  • Support people with their health needs (taking medication & attending GP appointments)

  • Grades C or above in Maths and English are preferred but not a necessity
  • A Health & Social Care qualification is desirable (Level 1 or 2)

Future prospects

Potential for hourly rate to increase to 8.40 an hour following probation (depending on age). On completion of the 12 month apprenticeship program, depending on performance, you may be offered a full time position at Hft.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is �3.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
