    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

  • To answer and respond to telephone and email enquiries and relay messages - dealing with all enquiries courteously and efficiently
  • To assist with the updating and maintenance of our internal database system
  • To produce documentation such as letters, quotations, maintenance agreements, service call records, goods for repair forms.

On completion of this Apprenticeship there may be an opportunity for the right candidate to remain in a permanent role within the business and develop their level of responsibilities or progress onto the Advanced Level apprenticeship.

Back in 1978 Quinton Hull, fresh out of college set out on his own into the electrical trade. Working solo for many years in a small Wiltshire village, Q J Hull Electrical went from strength to strength. Over the years Quinton employed Electricians to keep up with the demand, working across the South West. During the late nineties it became apparent that customers were after a ‘one stop shop’ and so Quinton branched out into the Plumbing and Heating Sectors so that a full service could be offered, and subsequently the business became ‘Q J Hull Electrical, Plumbing and Heating Contractor’. In 2002 the business became a Limited company. Based in Wiltshire, Q J Hull Ltd is perfectly placed to provide Electrical, Plumbing and Heating services to homes and businesses in and around Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, and Hampshire. They are also well equipped to work further afield if necessary; Work has previously taken them down to the Cornish coast, often into London and even as far as Africa! Q J Hull Ltd are a family run business who pride themselves in having an honest, straight forward approach, offering the very best value for money, and providing an excellent service. During the last five years Q J Hull Ltd has really grown, currently employing 14 people in roles such as, Fully Qualified Electricians and Plumbing and Heating Engineers. They also employ several apprentices and administration staff. Q J Hull Ltd is a member of various governing bodies across the sectors, such as NICEIC, Gas Safe, HETAS, APHC and OFTEC. With a long list of happy clients, and with very nearly 40 years in the trade, Q J Hull Ltd has a fantastic working relationship with local builders, carpenters and various other industries, often working side by side on projects. Over the years Q J Hull Ltd has experienced and resolved most Plumbing, Heating and Electrical problems and that experience places them at the very forefront of this evolving work and will continue to see them go from strength to strength in the future.

  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities – a workbook for you to do to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as an employee, and your employer’s responsibilities towards you.
