    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    This will be discussed with you upon interview/trial in the salon. However you will be expected to do a minimum of 30 hours and maximum of 40 hours to be eligible to carry out the apprenticeship. 5 of those hours will be off the job training.

Things to consider

Funding arrangements: Training on the Apprenticeship programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age isn’t always fully funded this will be discussed on your interview. Apprenticeship Minimum Wage: Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training. Training provider

You will be required to do one day per week ‘off the job’ training at one of our specialist centres in Doncaster. Whilst at Oracle you will do a full day with both practical and theory input included.
You will be assessed on your competence in both practical and Theory on the units selected on your course.

You will gain Beauty Therapy Level 3 NVQ Qualification, alongside this you will be required to do Functional Skills in Maths and English (dependant on any prior learning) Level will be determined on GCSE results or equivalent too.
