Support in the workplace:

You will receive full support and training from both Boom Training and iRecruit Partners, and work towards an advanced level, nationally recognised qualification!

Duties will include:

Supporting directors:

  • Acting as a PA
  • Diary management
  • Organising travel
  • Answering calls and taking messages
  • Booking appointments
  • Attending meetings
  • Using your own initiative

Customer service and resourcing:

  • Learn how to network and build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Developing a good understanding of client companies, their industry, what they do and their work culture and environment
  • Use candidate databases to match the right person to the client's vacancy
  • Receive and review applications, managing interviews, and create a shortlist of candidates for the client
  • Keep in regular contact with candidates via telephone and email
  • Informing candidates about the results of their interviews

Administration:

  • Filing, scanning, and photocopying
  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Stationary orders
  • Use a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Devising and maintaining office systems
  • Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts
  • Sorting and distributing incoming post and organising and sending outgoing post
  • Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information

Qualifications required

Always: GCSE in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.

Future prospects

If the apprentice proves to be successful with his/her duties, the role may be expanded once the apprenticeship has finished.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
