    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work for a local restaurant/pub within their busy hospitality environment, based in Walsall. 

The Apprentice will play an important team role in the day-to-day planning, organisation and smooth running of the pub to ensure all objectives are met.

Applicants must be 18yrs old due to licensing laws.

Duties to include:


  • Supporting in the kitchen in preparation and cooking
  • Receiving and storage of stock
  • Helping to maintain standards of personal hygiene, dress and appearance
  • Helping to maintain the cleanliness of the working areas and the kitchen

Bar / Restaurant:

  • Making sure the bar / restaurant is kept clean and well stocked
  • Taking orders
  • Dealing with payments
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing telephone calls
  • Serving customers
  • Cellar management

Job role entails heavy lifting and manual handling of stock to and from the cellar.
