There will be 2 parts to the vacancy the first will be working at Weston College  providing quality food to students and through to the Principal Dr Paul.

The other will be a great opportunity as will be working the newly refurbished Winter Gardens, assisting the band of chefs on site with providing catering for weddings, major events, the new seafront restaurant, and Café.  

You will be reasonable for preparing and cooking a wide range of foods and you will be serving the food to our customers.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with helping in all areas of our business including cleaning down after service.

Daily duties will inlcude

  • Assisting the Chef on preparing a full cooked breakfast and lunch service
  • Providing a selection of hot and cold food.
  • Making paninis, preparing salads and preparing filled baguettes.
  • Light Cleaning duties.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Basic knowledge of cooking with a good eye for detail
  • To be able to work well in a team environment and to work well on an individual basis.    

Personal qualities

  • Good customer service skills
  • To be presentable in their appearance
  • With a willingness to work and have a can do attitude.  

Qualifications required

A*-D in English and Math or equivalent

Things to consider

The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From April 2017 the ANMW was set at £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
