As an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant you will complete Kitchen Porter, Waiter/Waitress & Cooking duties. You will support the existing team in all aspects of the workplace.

You will complete the below tasks:

  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean
  • Preparing sandwiches to order
  • Delivering sandwiches to local businesses
  • Food Prep
  • Clearing tables
  • Filling / emptying dishwasher
  • Restocking plates / cups / cutlery behind counter
  • Serving customers
  • Taking payments

You will need to follow all Health, Hygiene and Safety practices that will be trained. You will develop your knowledge of hospitality, and the tasks you complete as part of your training and qualification.

An interest in food and sourcing food would be an advantage.

Enthusiasm and hard-working, easy going and open-minded and willingness to learn new skills and muck in when needed.

Qualifications required

You will be required to complete Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths & English if you have not previously completed.

Future prospects

Your pay will increase to £4.00 per hour after 3 months, then increase to £5.00 per hour after 6 months. There is the opportunity to be taken on as a full time employee at the end of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The candidate must be willing to work flexible hours around the normal working week to help out with evening events and functions. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
