    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

They are looking for friendly, hardworking and committed apprentice with a bubbly personality and passion for hairdressing to join their team.

Things to consider

• One late nights per week. • Working Saturdays. • Hairdressing is physically hard work and you will be active for a long time every day. • Hairdressing requires some understanding of human biology and chemistry, and this will be taught during your Apprenticeship. • Hairdressing is heavily customer-focused and you will be constantly interacting with people.

Training provider

  • The apprentice will work towards an Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing Professional. 
  • All practical training will be provided in the salon and once a month the apprentice will attend a college day at a designated local venue where theory will be taught. 
  • Functional Skills qualifications in English and Mathematics will also be taught where applicable.
