    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Duties will include:

  • Providing safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities, preparing activities, organising the programme etc.
  • Providing full care for the children including collecting children from classrooms and delivering them safely to their parents or carers. This may include providing refreshments
  • Administering first aid as appropriate
  • Encouraging parental involvement and support
  • Close liaison with parents, schools and other childcare and play related agencies.
  • Attending meetings as required
  • Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
  • Working within agreed policies
  • General cleaning to ensure hygienic conditions

Qualifications required

  • Ideally you will already have the NVQ Level 2 qualification in Play work but this is not essntial , just a and a willingness to undertake further relevant training

We are fully Ofsted registered! Introducing The Barn Club! Now offering before and after school care... We will even drop off and/or collect your children from school, by foot or by fully insured company vehicles with all the necessary safety kit. We are already successfully running this scheme with Rawdon St Peter's, Littlemoor's, Westfield Junior's and Infants, Rufford Park Primary and St. Peter's & Paul's. Children will get healthy snacks, unlimited juice or water, and a home cooked meal made with locally sourced fresh produce. Breakfast Club: Drop off your child at The Barn for 7.30am and we will take them to school for £5.00. After School Club: Pick up from school and stay with us until 6pm for £10.00 or stay until 7pm for £12.50 We have Early Years accreditation so we can also look after pre-schoolers.
