Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the printing of all schools documents, scheduling the work accordingly
  • To be responsible for utilising all reprographics, binding and laminating equipment in the reprographics department in order that the quality of presentation of work is the best possible given the resources available
  • To maintain a monitoring system for the booking, distribution and collection of all resources to staff
  • To be responsible for the ordering of stationery and stock and maintaining appropriate levels
  • Ensure that Nottinghamshire Schools Portal and the Academy’s email address is opened daily and that all correspondence is distributed accordingly


  • It is vital to the ethos of the support team that the post holder is flexible in taking on additional tasks, willing to offer help and cover for other members of the team and treats co-operation and support for colleagues as a top priority
  • To undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms, following consultation

The post holder will:

  • Promote the school in accordance with the School Improvement Plan up to a level that is reasonable in relation to the grading of the post
  • Carry out school and Trust policy as documented and/or as directed by the Headteacher
  • Respect the confidential nature of all information acquired in the performance of the job either verbally or in writing
  • Work in a responsible and safe manner, paying attention to all Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures operating within the school and Trust
  • Work in a way that enhances the school in the eyes of the local community and beyond
  • Work flexibly within school according to the grade or level of work
  • Assist in the provision of a high quality educational experience for all children
  • Engage in appraisal activities and reviews as required by the Trust policy and use the process to develop your personal and professional effectiveness

Future prospects

Possibility of progression onto level 4 qualification and full time role is available for hard working apprentices.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. About the employer

Part of the East Midlands Education Trust (EMET), Joseph Whitaker School is a secondary school with academy status in Rainworth near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire in England. Over 1,300 students are taught there, by a staff body of over 100 teachers. The current headmaster is Mr Bell, who took over from Mr Martlew. The school takes its name from Joseph Whitaker, a naturalist who lived in Rainworth at Rainworth Lodge. In the early part of 2016, The school also has its own sixth form college for Post-16 A-Level studies, offering a multitude of subject areas. The school has invested heavily in the Post-16 facilities, with the opening of a flagship £1,000,000 Sixth Form Centre in November 2012. It has teaching rooms, a media suite, study areas and a Sixth Form café. All attending sixth form students also receive a netbook and membership of school's gym facility.
