Things you will learn

  • Posting cash per bank account
  • Investigating unidentified cash, which involves using finance and sales systems and liaising with several internal and external teams.
  • Opening Finance team post and assigning as necessary
  • Assist with any other duties as and when required by the department
  • Assist with year end procedures

About the Apprenticeship

  • You will be expected to attend regular sessions with our Skills Academy team, and apprenticeship provider, to assist you in gaining your qualification. The apprenticeship training accounts to around 20% of your working time.
  • In Addition to the Apprenticeship Qualifications, you will also have the opportunity to attend Haymarkets in-House, specialist training sessions to aid you further in your role.
  • At the end of the apprenticeship, our Skills Academy team will assist you with careers advice, CV writing, and Interview Skills

  • Is responsive and courteous in dealing with internal and external clients proactively
  • Presents information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and complete work within time frame

Personal qualities

  • Effective in seeking relevant data and demonstrates good analytical skills
  • Existing Intermediate Excel skill preferable and a willingness to develop Excel skills

Qualifications required

A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grade C or above including English and Maths. 

Future prospects

96% of Arch Apprentices move straight into the destination of their choice when they finish their apprenticeship with many seeing their salary go up immediately post-apprenticeship!

Level 3 Assistant Accountant

An Assistant Accountant provides support to internal and external customers and will work predominately either as an assistant accountant within practice or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation. Part of their role will involve assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements.
