This is a fantastic opportunity to complete an Apprenticeship Programme in Retail at Milestone House General Store with a friendly employer. Whilst working as an Apprentice Retail Sales Assistant you will be given full training on all duties to include:

•Customer service
•Use of tills, processing both cash and card payments
•Assisting with deliveries.
•You will deal with customer queries,
•Assisting shoppers to find goods and products
•Give advice and guidance in the retail environment
•Be involved in receiving and storing deliveries
•Stock rotation
•Keeping up to date with special promotions
•Creating promotional displays to up-sell products
•Take part in keeping the store clean and tidy

You will have a passion for the retail environment and be able to grow with the business.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Retail Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

To be able to work on own initiative as well as in a team. Previous experience is not required as the employer is looking for someone who wants to develop a long term career in Retail.

• Excellent time keeping skills.

Qualifications required

No specific qualifications required, as full training is to be given. However basic maths and English skills are desirable.

Future prospects

For the right candidate there is a possibility of a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The work pattern is any 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts will include days, evenings, and weekend work to the requirements of the workplace. The earliest required start will be 5:30am and the latest required finish will be 10pm. This vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are received. Please ensure you apply early to avoid disappointment. May also be entitled to an NUS card. The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From April 2017 the ANMW was set at £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
