The role will involve learning how to use MS Publisher and MS Word software packages to enable updating of our brochures, marketing literature and compiling bespoke documents for tenders and project bids. It will also entail editorial management of our website and information & promotion control within our social media platforms on Twitter and LinkedIn. As required by a medium sized business such as ours, you will also be expected to assist with minor general administration duties, greeting visitors, answering the telephone and interfacing with the professional engineering staff.
General list of duties

  • Downloading, reading and sifting through on-line public tender documentation to establish information required and deadlines
  • Completion of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and bespoke company brochures
  • Project Bid Management & Tender submissions - assisting Directors and Associates to compile tender documents for project bids.
  • Ensure that project case studies are completed for each project and are kept updated on a central database, all are in the same format and layout.
  • Ensure staff project CV files are kept up to date and are in the same format and layout
  • Managing and maintaining our branding & ‘House Style’
  • Assisting with the development and managing continuity of our standard documents, letter formats, report formats, CV format, etc.
  • Ensuring all standard marketing materials / brochures are up to date for all Silcock Leedham Group businesses
  • Having editorial control of Silcock Leedham & Zero Energy Design websites to add news items, changes to content, updating case studies and the like to keep the website fresh.
  • General minor admin assistance to Business & Finance Manager as required
  • Assistance answering the telephones during busy periods
  • Occasionally greet guests and provide refreshments for meetings

Course content:
A Level 2 Apprenticeship is delivered entirely in the workplace where you will gain knowledge, understanding and skills on the job. An Assessor from Leeds City College will visit you on a regular basis to complete your college work.

The Apprenticeship framework comprises of:

  • Competence - Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Marketing
  • Knowledge qualification - Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Principles of Marketing
  • Employee Responsibilities and Rights (workbook)

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour (From April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship.
