Plant Fitter/Service Engineer

The day will involve ensuring hire machines are ready to go out on hire.  This will involve cleaning, servicing, repairs and testing.                                     

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

To have a basic mechanical knowledge and have an interest in mechanics.

Have an aptitude for solving problems.

Personal qualities

Conscientious, reliable, hardworking, presentable and with good communication skills.  

Qualifications required

Reasonable GCSE's would be desirable.

Future prospects

Possible progression to a Level 3 Plant Maintenance apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Plant Maintenance is delivered as a block release programme so apprentices will be required to stay away from home for their college training. The blocks are usually two weeks but can be more in some cases.
