    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Role of Scheduler. 

  • You will be learning how to create a Broadcast Schedule which notifies the crew, producers and on air talent of what we are broadcasting live, what is being repeated and what the special promotional events are. 
  • The Scheduler works closely with the Planning department to decide which shows will be on air. 
  • Based on sales information you will learn how schedule repeats at optimal buying times to maximise sales revenues. 
  • We are a start-up company and all members of staff must be flexible and ready to roll up their sleeves and help out with tasks outside of their job description. 

Role of Transmission Controller

You will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the Transmission process, ie how we take the feed from our studios to people’s homes. 

  • You will learn how to take a database from Scheduling and import it to our Transmission software Oasys. 
  • You will check for any database / transmission errors. 
  • Ensure that all sure timings are correct and all commercial breaks are on time with the correct promos. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Logging of live show codes. 
  • Show reporting, providing sales data.
  • EPG, show titles, creation for Sky. 
  • Graphic Overlay setup from Oasys.

  • Ideally educated to A Level/BTEC standard, or have English GCSE B grade or higher. (or equivalents).
