Lift Truck Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship with Rushlift Material Handling in our Slough Depot. This is a 3 year Apprenticeship.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
As an apprentice with us you will be trained to be competent to carry out regular servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on all trucks, to a high standard of finish working in an efficient manner, in our main workshop and out on customer sites.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a team establishing relationships with all work colleagues, trainers and customers, to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
- Attend training courses as required.
- Assist in the regular servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on all trucks.
- Fault finding and inspections.
- Assist your mentor in any tasks or duties that are required.
- Undertake any other duties that may be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post.
- To observe and comply with all policies and procedures, such as health and safety at work and continually encourage customer care.
- To complete all tasks including written work within the timescales provided.
Requirements and prospects
The person will be able to communicate well, ideally have some mechanical skills that might have come from school projects or hobbies.
Good IT skills and an ability to problem solve.
You will need to be motivated and have a passion for engineering.
Ideally GCSE Grade C or above in English, Mathematics or equivalent.

The training with F-TEC will comprise of 5 two weekly blocks per year, whereby the apprentice will attend the training centre and gain classroom and workshop training.
Whilst at the centre, the apprentice will also complete online multiple choice exams.
The apprentice will be registered with The IMI Awards (Institute of Motor Industry) and have an online e-portfolio system which you will use to collect workplace evidence, complete assignments and have access to resources upon this system. An F-TEC assessor will visit you in the workplace to observe you completing tasks and ensure that you are on track on the programme.
The Intermediate Apprenticeship is delivered over 2 years and on successful completion of this,
it is expected that the apprentice will continue to the advanced apprenticeship for a one year duration.
