Working within a team of 9 the Apprentice will receive support and training so that they are able to complete the below duties:

  • Utilise the computerised estimating system to view images of repairs from our network of repairers.
  • Negotiate and agree the bodyshop repair methodology and costs.
  • For mechanical repairs, contact the appropriate repairer to discuss and agree the repair method and costs.
  • For total loss vehicles, discuss with the appropriate company the approach and salvage sale price.
  • Ensure availability, utilisation and productivity targets are achieved, meeting all service level agreements for managed workflow and vehicle inspections.
  • Support the business unit and team ensuring key cost drivers that influence repair, total loss, mechanical spend and operational expenditure are achieved.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade D or equivalent desirable but not essential.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Training provider

Intermediate Apprenticeship in Customer Service.

This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.
