The role is primarily to offer support to the care assistant team under the supervision of a senior member of staff.

Your daily duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • To visit service users as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • To provide personal care, e.g. to assist service users to wash, bathe, shower, dress, feed.
  • To assist service users to the commode or toilet, to empty catheter bags (where necessary), promoting continence where appropriate.
  • To assist service users to transfer safely, e.g. from bed to chair
  • To provide meals where necessary, having regard to service users'; dietary requirements and choice, and / or assist with meals on wheels.
  • To be aware of and to follow procedures for management of money at all times when dealing with service users'; finances.
  • To collect prescriptions if required and remind service users of the necessity of taking prescribed medicine, but not to administer medicine.
  • To assist service users to maintain contact with family, friends and the community.

Due to the personal care elements of this role you will need to be 18 years old before September to apply for this role.

You will be working a 40 hour week which will require flexibility and include weekends.

No qualifications required, you will need to complete some initial maths and english assessments as part of the application process.

Things to consider

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

About the employer

Langdale Heights is a detached home that stands on a size-able plot surrounded by a matured garden and home to many of nature';s animals. It is approximately 150 yards off the A38 Burton Road and within 1 mile of Derby City Centre. It was registered as a dual-registered home ever since our acquisition and hence it has meant that those residents who required nursing care never had to leave the home, as it became a home for life. This was the impetus to change all our homes to dual registered homes. The home benefits from having its local amenities just a stones throw away and one of the largest NHS hospitals'; in the country within a 5-minute drive. �Our spacious rooms benefit from high ceilings and a great ambiance. �The home can house up to 25 residents, although we have 21 rooms. �The 4 executive double rooms offer generous size to comfortably accommodate both occupants. �The remaining 17 rooms are made up of both deluxe and premium deluxe rooms, with small variations in room size.
