 The successful applicant will be responsible for producing quality food using fresh ingredients including fish and seafood. Over the duration of the apprenticeship we would like to build your skills and knowledge and allow you to bring new ideas to the pub and the menu. This position will include weekends.

 We will train you to the highest industry standard along with first class training from Weston College.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Preparing the kitchen for service
  • Preparing meat, fish and shellfish for service
  • Preparing fresh fruit and vegetables for service
  • Cook at all stations in the kitchen
  • Assist in serving if needed too
  • Cleaning the kitchen down and closing the kitchen down post service

  • Basic preparation skills would be ideal

  • A*-C in English and Math or equivalent

Kevin and Diane Mildon run this small village pub in the heart of Congresbury.  It is a friendly and happy working environment with lots of regulars making the atmosphere a great place to work.  They have massed up over 18 years in the industry and both hold fantastic knowlede of how the pub should run. Originally a 16th century cottage, the Old Inn is a delightful traditional village pub with a wealth of nooks and crannies and a great beer garden.
