Warehousing and Storage Apprentice James Churchill Hedges
We are seeking 2 apprentices to support with the warehousing functions for the online retail of Party and Fancy Dress supplies.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Whilst undertaking an Intermediate Apprenticeship Warehousing & Storage, supported by South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, you will be employed and trained to support JCH Products in the following:
Assist with warehouse tasks such as:
- Receive goods from deliveries
- Place goods in storage
- stock control management
- Maintain the safety and quality of goods
- Process orders for dispatch
- Pick orders for dispatch
- Pack orders for dispatch
- Processing returned orders
- Audit stock levels and stock records
- co-ordinate couriers
- Maintain hygiene standards
- Waste/Recycling Handling
You will also be trained on the IT programmes used within the company and learn a variety of skills to support you, your development and the company with the integration of these systems in your day to day job.
Due to the nature of the business you are working in, there will be quiet and busy times depending on the season. From time to time, you may find that your role may diversify to other departments and that you will be required to support with the following:
- Administration processes
- Customer service via telephone and email
- Supporting with Account Management of suppliers
- Support with bringing new innovative products to market
- Simple photography of products
- Uploading information and images onto our websites

Good sense of humour and open mind due to some of the products sold (Hen/Stag related, nothing too crude)
Honest and trustworthy, reliable, “can-do” attitude, willingness to support others within the company
Although GCSE Grades A*-C (or equivalent) in Maths, English Language and Science are desirable, and knowledge or use of ICT preferred, JCH Products will also consider applicants who are willing to develop these through additional training to include Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship programme.
Having the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to your education as well as your employment are essential requirements to this role.

As the successful apprentice you will undertake an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage to include an NVQ at Level 2, Technical Certificate, Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (where applicable), Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR), and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).
The Apprenticeship will be delivered by a South Gloucestershire & Stroud College Assessor. You will be required to attend Stroud Campus to complete any underpinning knowledge support, however the majority of your assessments towards your qualifications will be undertaken within the workplace environment.
You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and experience throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
