  • Management of online merchandising
  • Get the basic online merchandising and relevant marketing disciplines right first time across the websites, showing clear evidence of continuous progress being made on a weekly and period basis from all individuals who are involved with this process
  • Using on-site analytics and feedback performance analysis if required
  • Ensure products are correctly displayed (including imagery, video content and product reviews) through the online channel
  • Drive increased sales and profit through the online channel
  • Work with the Online Trading team to assist in driving sales and margin increases Year on Year in terms of, product, services and solution sales across the websites
  • Manage the availability of the online range including home delivery, reserve & collect and pay & collect
  • Bring the current online merchandising offering in line with relevant brand positioning. Work closely with marketing team to ensure all key promotions are featured throughout the sites
  • Analyse performance of commercial pages to ensure optimised customer journey
  • Establish a philosophy of continuous improvement through all areas, demonstrable through meaningful metrics reported weekly and periodically
  • Web Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Work with relevant internal teams to undertake adhoc analysis of the performance of products & categories, making recommendations & implementing changes where necessary
  • Monitor and report on content improvements, including number of images, video, video views, product reviews and customer satisfaction scores and impact these have on conversion rates
  • Applying Knowledge
  • Work alongside the team to plan and organise the merchandising function, having the ability to work on projects autonomously, and in the wider team
  • Have a good understanding of the internal systems in order to improve processes and derive the best possible merchandising opportunities across the online channel
  • Think laterally on occasion to solve problems presented by internal systems and process
  • Develop new processes to improve the overall merchandising function

Qualifications required

3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Training provider

You will be training on the new Apprenticeship level 3 Digital Marketer Standard.

Approximately 12% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 8% is done in the workplace, through workplace units, face-to-face meetings with your QA Assessor, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
