    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

About the job role:

Primarily the role entails installation and commissioning of solar PV systems and associated technologies such as voltage optimisation, power diverters, LED lighting, AC electrical installations etc.

Roles and responsibilities (whilst training):

  • To organise yourself and ensure you have correct PPE and tools every day.
  • Ensure installations are to industry standards Team leader to advise on Ecolution standards.
  • Any issues on site are reported back to your team leader/supervisor.
  • Vans are kept clean and tidy with minimum van stock levels monitored on a daily/weekly basis and replenished as required.
  • To maintain a good communication and relationship with your team leader/supervisor
  • Ensure Ecolution installation standards and delivery procedures are adhered to
  • Strive to learn how to install different types of PV systems.
  • Documentation to be sent to office whilst team leader drives van from site.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Full UK Driving Licence is required due to field work.

Personal qualities

You will be working with a very experienced team of hard working engineers. You will be required to work efficiently under the pressure of a growing business. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, with a positive attitude, and work ethos to join our company.

Qualifications required

5 GCSEs at A*-C, including English and Maths or equivalent.
