We are looking to offer Business Administration (Bed Planner) Apprenticeship at our Charcon Construction Solutions office in Lound.

Working alongside the office team and management, the key responsibilities and deliverables for the role include, but are not limited to:

Key end results / tasks:

  • Delivery of process control sheets for the factory to manufacture from
  • Controlling the release of plans to ensure we meet critical delivery requirements
  • Communication of the above across the Charcon planning team
  • Interpreting drawings (with FloorOffice software) to ensure designers have created a product within manufacturing’s capability
  • Suggest and be responsible for improvements to software that will drive efficiency
  • Generating sound plans that maximise effectiveness of labour, production lines and shift outputs
  • Implement control methods to ensure plan accuracy on a bed by bed basis
  • To fully participate and contribute to the wider Concrete Products Division

 Decision Making:

  • Demand and Capacity plan design requirements by product and factory capability
  • Identify and monitor variations between what can and can’t be produced
  •  Recommend actions to rectify design mistakes
  • Ability to prioritise workload


  • Delivery of an accurate high level bed/production plan
  • Keeping up to speed with customers delivery requirements
  • Keep up to speed with factories make requirements
  • Understand factory capability, processes and outputs and plan to achieve optimum production at the lowest cost and maximum overhead
  • To ensure robust bed plans are produced
  • Be able to ensure designers are learning from mistakes
  •  Efficient running of bed planning team

Desired skills

  • Good written English and the ability to build effective working relations are essential for this role
  • The ideal candidate must also be able to work to set deadlines and prioritise workload
  • The individual needs to have keen attention to detail and be diligent and conscientious in all aspects of their duties
  • Ideally, candidates will be IT literate and have some knowledge of the industry

Personal qualities

  • We are looking for someone who is highly organised and has the capability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong team player with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Individuals will also need to be self-motivated, with initiative and have a proactive approach to completing tasks

Qualifications required

  • Minimum of 2 A Levels, in addition to GCSE Maths & English Grade C+ (or equivalent)

As a Business Administration Apprentice with SR Education, you will complete the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard
