Duties include:

  • Will work closely and collaboratively with your team and with senior staff.
  • Safeguarding all children in our care and promote and ensure excellent working practice through the kindergarten.
  • Have high regard for ‘Health and safety’ and all other kindergarten policies.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times with regards to working staff relationships and children and their families.
  • Punctuality for start of shift and have high regard for your own personal appearance and hygiene.
  • To support fellow staff.
  • To work to the best of your abilities, have fun and enjoy your working practice.
  • To promote the kindergarten within the local community.
  • To take a full an active part using your own initiative in all play and learning experiences, this also includes swimming, ensuring that you have kit at all times.
  • To work closely with the settings SENCO in supporting children with additional needs.
  • To maintain all toys, furniture and equipment, ensuring safe use at all times. Reporting and removing any damaged items for repair or disposal.
  • Cleaning the kindergarten rooms and floors on a daily basis as part of a team responsibility.
  • To carry out such other duties that may reasonably be required.

The key dates are to be used as a guide only. Should the right candidate be found, this vacancy may close early. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Boot Farm kindergarten and pre-school is located on the edge of Brimpton Common, overlooking beautiful countryside and benefits from being set in a rural area. We have wonderful enclosed, safe, stimulating and spacious gardens, fully equipped with adventurous climbing frames with slides, swings sets with ropes, rings and tyres, trampolines both with netting, play houses and outdoor covered sand pits. We also have a safe enclosed wild garden offering the opportunities to grow and tend to plants and vegetables and a low level balance garden with all-weather rubber flooring.
