This role is fundamental in our day to day operations, dealing with enquires, data input, processing mail (incoming and outgoing), compliance checks and general administrative support for the department.

The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;

  • Provide a clerical/administrative/MIS support to the Directorate.
  • Act as a point of contact for enquiries.

Specific job activities to be determined in conjunction with the Apprenticeship Operations  Manager but to include:

  • To input data onto the Directorate’s database and central data systems.
  • Help maintain filing systems within the Directorate.
  • Perform compliance, monitoring checks/audits, both internal and subcontracted.
  • Deal with telephone calls to the monitoring and compliance office.
  • Collect and greet visitors and provide refreshments as required.
  • Assist with the mail for the Directorate.
  • Provide administrative support to the team.
  • Assist with room bookings, register queries and other related issues.
  • Assist with Open Days, Welcome Events and other out of hours events.
  • Maintain tracking of documents to and from the compliance team.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE Grade D or above or equivalent in English.
  • ICT qualification.

To progress onto an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Business & Administration. To be taken on as a full-time member of the team.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
