A great opportunity to train in a first class environment and receive a qualification through our training provider, Rewards Training. Duties include:

  • Preparing in a fresh food environment for hotel guests, events, weddings and the bar.
  • Working across all areas/departments of the kitchen covering all aspects of food preparation, cooking and service.
  • Adhering to the food safety requirements of the kitchen
  • Learning to work in a way to control wastage while ensuring excellent standards of food.

Chef’s whites are provided.  Great staff benefits package available on successful completion of a three month probationary period.

Ability to communicate clearly

Some basic kitchen skills gained from personal experience not necessarily in a workplace

Must be able to successfully complete CIEH Level 2 Food Safety (Catering) which will be held inhouse/online

Future prospects

It is anticipated that upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, and assuming good performance, that a permanent position will be available.

Things to consider

Must be located within a reasonable distance of the hotel to make travel time/cost realistic Shift work and weekend working are part of this role Must be physically fit- working in a hot and pressurized environment. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
