Fantastic opportunity to join Victoria House as an Apprentice.
Carers strive to be sensitive to the Residents’ ever changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.
You would be expected to carry out various duties which will include:
Role Highlights

  • Provide attention when needed, whilst ensuring Clients retain their comfort and dignity
  • Closely monitor Clients who may be confused and / or who have behavioural problems
  • Helping out in the unit to support your Team to cover holidays, absence etc
  • Pay particular attention to assisting Clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided
  • Ensure the Care Centre’s resources are used appropriately
  • Make and change beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty, in line with the Care Centre’s disposal of waste policy

Previous experience is not required as the employer is looking for someone who wants to develop a long term career in Health and Social Care.

No qualifications required, as training will be given to complete the role.

Future prospects

Learner could progress to a senior position and then a team leading position after experience gained. Possible full time position after 12 month apprenticeship.

Things to consider

This is a Monday- Sunday position with every other weekend off. You will be working three 10 hour night shifts and one 8 hour day shift with 3 days off. Please note this employer is based in a rural location. The employer welcomes applications from local residents, however, the successful candidate will be appointed on merit.
