  • The Electronics Group are looking to recruit 5 apprentices for a 12-month Level 2 Apprenticeship, where you would be working for an employer based in Kingston Upon Hull.
  • As an Apprentice, you will be working alongside electronics assembly teams and building products.

Duties include:

 

  • Assembling both conventional and ‘surface mount’ components onto printed circuit boards. Product assembly work will also be required as will the preparation of cable assemblies.  You will need to meet deadlines, ensure your work is to define quality standards, always adhering to health and safety standards as applicable. You will report to a production cell team leader and you will need to develop and foster good working relationships.
  • Mainly electronic in nature, the work will require other general engineering skills to be learnt and used.  Additionally, you will begin to understand the operation of other production equipment and both in-process and final inspection techniques.
  • A portion of the apprenticeship will involve Business Improvement Techniques, focusing on Continuous Improvement methodologies.  Members will actively contribute to team based Kaizen activities and Lean Manufacturing events.
  • You will spend 1 day per week studying ‘off the job’ for an L2 Diploma in Engineering Technology.

 

Successful candidates will be 16+, computer literate, practical, and punctual, have attention to detail and have a positive attitude. You will also need to have Grade C or above/equivalent in GCSE Maths & English.
