    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

You will be involved in mixing different types of cement, bricklaying in many different forms. You will also work on rendering and diferent finishes.

P B & T offer the following services:

  • Extensions and conversions.
  • Block paving.
  • Fireplaces and BBQs.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Needs to be capable of a physically demanding role, as will require some lifting to be done.

Personal qualities

  • Excellent timekeeper required.
  • Happy to work outdoors.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE grades A-D in Maths & English or equivalent.

Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship in Construction Building: Trowel Occupations (Bricklaying).

Individuals who already have a Level 4 qualification are now eligible for a Level 5 or above Higher Apprenticeship. They are not eligible for funding for an Intermediate Level, Advanced Level or Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship.
