Your key tasks include:

You will be involved in highly skilled, complex and precision work, matching components from specialist materials using conventional and CNC machine tools such as centre lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines and multi-axis CNC machines.

Personal qualities

An inquisitive but logical mind, bright, personable and can do attitude that is keen to be part of a team. 

Qualifications required

GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent or above in English, Maths and Science or equivalent qualifications.

Desirable candidates will also have a GCSE Grade C in Engineering. However, candidates that can demonstrate practical experience in engineering will also be considered highly desirable.

SME is in a semi-rural location so consideration must be made regarding travel.

Training provider

The successful applicant will study the Level 3 Engineering Manufacture Related Apprenticeship Framework. This includes Health and Safety, Roles and Responsibilities and a Technical Certificate. Candidates that do not hold GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths, English and ICT will be required to sit Functional Skills in these subjects.
