We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join our team to provide valuable, practical assistance to class teachers in both the classroom and in extracurricular activities.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels. We are looking for a reliable, flexible individual who has a passion working in schools. Candidates should be passionate about working with children and have a real desire to improve standards of learning in school.

General Teaching Assistant Duties:

  • Support pupils 1-1.
  • Role specific duties.
  • Varying specialities.
  • Support IT class teachers.
  • Prepare dlassroom for lessons.
  • Support lessons, including small groups.
  • Develop pupils attainment.
  • To work under guidance of SENCO, curriculum leader, class teacher is planning and implementation of work programs for pupils with additional needs.
  • Undertake basic record keeping.
  • Ensure classrooms are kept safe condition for learning.
  • Maintain and arrange orderly and secure storage of resources.

**PLEASE NOTE** applicants must fulfil certain criteria in order to be eligible for apprenticeship training funding. Applicants must be not be either a graduate or have already completed a Level 4 qualification.

  • No formal experience is necessary; however previous relevant experience would be advantageous.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in supporting teaching and learning and specifically within the special needs sector.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Training provider

Candidates will be required to undertake 1 paid education day per month at school. Candidates will also have 3 more contacts per month with their tutor through a variety of mediums including – observations, webinars, phone calls, review meetings and distance learning.
