The Chartered Association of Building Engineers is seeking three apprentices to work in the areas of administration. We are looking to fill a selection of posts in the areas of marketing/events, membership and regional operations.

Duties will include:

  • Customer service
  • Answering the phone 

General office administration include:

  • Mailing
  • Word processing
  • Telephone answering
  • Invoicing
  • Database maintenance
  • Other general administrative duties.

Project work will vary depending on role, but will be given to ensure that the apprentice has opportunities for development, and to experience a broad range of administrative functions such as web page updating, content collation for marketing packs, analysis of membership statistics etc.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including, Word, Excel and Access would be advantageous
  • The candidate must be both flexible and adaptable

Qualifications required

5 GCSEs grades C above or equivalent qualifications.

Future prospects

Opportunity for Financial progression at month 6 and 12. Progression to either a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship would be made available for the right candidate on completion of Level 2. Main aim for the Employer and Candidate is to secure full time employment at the end of the apprenticeship and start progressing within the company. Key Training has a success rate of 72% in Business Administration.

Things to consider

Please make sure you can get to the specified location on a daily basis. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
