Brand new opportunity to become a qualified Chef working in a highly rated local Italian Restaurant, cooking to high standards with fresh ingredients.

Mollys Restaurant in Lancaster, are looking for a hardworking and determined candidate to work as an Apprentice Chef in their busy Italian restaurant.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with all members of the team and show self-motivation and professionalism at all times. They must have a commitment to their own personal development and a genuine desire to work in hospitality.

  • Prepare and cook food as delegated by the Head Chef.
  • Be able to read recipes and be able to prepare and cook the dishes as specified in the recipe.
  • Be able to move around all sections within the kitchen and be trained in all sections.
  • Have a high standard of work practice and hygiene.
  • Comply with hygiene and health and safety standards.
  • Ensure no foodstuff is unnecessarily wasted.
  • Maintain strict portion control.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Professional Cookery Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The work pattern is any 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts will include days, evenings, and weekend work to the requirements of the workplace. The minimum hours worked will be 30 but could be asked to work more and the wage will be pro rata accordingly. You must be 18 years or over to apply for this position due to insurance policies. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
