Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Working to the highest standards of health and safety and food hygiene.
  • Food preparation.
  • Helping to fulfill customer food orders.
  • Taking the greatest care over customer orders with dietary needs, avoiding cross-contamination.
  • Presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
  • Delivering meals to tables at busy times.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and adjacent areas.
  • Helping with washing up and cleaning of crockery, utensils and equipment.
  • Ensuring all products and utensils are stored away.
  • Completing end-of-shift tasks.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good listener for when given tips or if something needs doing in the kitchen.
  • Concentration to detail.
  • Aware of dietary needs.
  • Careful of cross contamination, and someone who is very hygienic.

Personal qualities

  • Someone who is hard working.
  • Honest.
  • Humorous and not to serious.
  • Energetic so that they are always up for experience.

Qualifications required

GCSEs (or equivalent), grades A-C.

Future prospects

A full time job opportunity in the kitchen to become, later down the line, the kitchen manager.

Things to consider

The flowing spring isn't near any public transport, so you will need to have reliable access to transport. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

About the employer

The Flowing Spring Pub is a very friendly, cosy and traditional country pub, which deals very well with dietry requirements and are happy to do whatever they can to make there customers happy. They are a team of 5 at the moment and looking for a passionate person to fill that extra spot.
