    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

If you would like to work amongst the hustle and bustle of a big city, then this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.  The salon has been established for 25 years and because of its unique location has a reputation for complete privacy for its high class clientele.  The team are currently recruiting for an apprentice hairdresser.  This is a great opportunity and is a solid foundation for a rewarding and enjoyable career in Hairdressing.

A Normal Day in the salon will include:

Welcoming and greeting clients on arrival.
Making Refreshments and making sure clients are comfortable, offering magazines.
Shampooing, conditioning and rinsing hair.  Rinsing colours, applying hair treatments.
Assisting Stylists on the salon floor
Keeping the salon clean, tidy and presentable at all times.

What will I learn?
With training you will learn to blow dry, style, dress, colour and cut hair. You will gain practical skills and become confident in reception duties including answering the phone and making client appointments.
Once you have completed your Level 2 qualification, you can progress onto a NVQ Level 3 advanced apprenticeship in Hair where you will continue to learn new skills and techniques.

You will be fully supported throughout your training from our highly qualified team of hairdressing experts who will help you succeed.
