Duties include:

  • Welcome customers to the service centre and utilise the booking system to ensure their arrival and work required is recorded
  • To learn how to plan and co-ordinate service activity to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and profitability
  • To assist with stock checking ensuring accurate information is maintained on computer systems
  • Liaise with the parts suppliers to ensure parts availability, keeping customers & the workshop team informed   
  • Maintain the reception area
  • Maintain quality standards of dress, attitude, customer care, honesty and health and safety in order to portray a professional image to customers at all times
  • Maintain records of all customers enabling for follow-ups to be carried out
  • To receive customer enquiries by telephone and in person

Qualifications required

GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade D or above desirable but not essential.

Future prospects

Full training will be given in this challenging and varied role to ensure that the apprentice has the skills and expertise to become a permanent member of staff upon completion of the apprenticeship programme with the opportunity to progress on to a Level 3 qualification.

Training provider

Intermediate Apprenticeship in Customer Service.

This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.
